Our Story

My name is Mandy and I am the founder of Soywyk Candle Co. I am super excited you took the time to check out my website. I am thrilled to share my candle making journey and this crazy passion of candle making with you.

My candle making journey started after high school as a hobby to make some extra money for college as a teenager to all the way as a young adult  living in Baltimore, MD attending college.  A couple of my favorite classes was chemistry and art so it's probably not a surprise why I am so passionate about the chemistry and design aspects of making candles. Just like chemistry and art, the process of making candles involves lots of science and hours of testing to get the best results. 

Through the years I experimented with several different wax types on and off. Also with being in the healthcare field I wanted to bring you a better choice of healthy affordable and eco-friendly products. I use premium quality America sourced waxes and non-toxic fragrance oils in all our candle products.  

Our candles are made from renewable sources for a cleaner burn  and we use clean fragrance oils from a reputable supplier to help with people with allergies. The aspect of using clearer fragrant oils is something I am really passivate about. In my nursing career I have meet many patients with allergies and breathing issues. My hopes to make a little cleaner candle product for a happier you.

All my candles are hand poured by  me in small batches in my kitchen and workshop in my home in West Virginia. This is where I brainstorm my new scent combinations, hand pour every jar and design my labels and do my marketing. My goal is to reduce the amount of toxic indoor pollution inside your home. I want to make a beautiful, eco- friendly and safe candle for you to enjoy.

I  hope my custom signature line of candle will spark some curiosity to give them a try.  In this visual shopping reality we live  in today, I hope we can grab your attention to try one of our unique custom blended candles.  Hummm, Smell that?.... It smells really good doesn't it?

Both our Signature and Daily Grind Line of Coconut Soy Wax candles are crafted with a custom organic  coconut soy wax and non-toxic fragrance blend of high quality fragrant and essential oils combined to create a unique scent blend. These blends are inspired from places I have visited on my travel nurse assignments, by the nature, environment, memories  around us. I am having fun blending different fragrances to try to capture some of my memories from these experiences in my Signature and Daily Grind of candle line. They are hand-poured into reusable modern mini ceramic vessels to elevate your space with a trendy and  minimalist vibe.
